Special Notices
We can’t help the weather! If it is snowing and you live in the county, then we may run a day late. We’ll do our best to maintain the schedule, however, it will depend on roads and driveways being plowed.
It is your responsibility to have your driveway and dumpster plowed. We will not make a special trip free of charge if we cannot access your property during your scheduled route.
Please note: We require roadways to be a minimum of 10 feet wide for our trucks to access your container. If you are unable to get your driveway plowed, then please call so we can make other arrangements to get your garbage picked up.

BEARS
A majority of the county will experience bears!
It is the Colorado Division of Wildlife’s stand that that only people can prevent problems with bears and that garbage kills bears! VDS can provide you with a ‘bear resistant’ dumpster. These dumpsters have reinforced lids. These lids are heavier to lift, but have successfully kept the bears out for ten years. CDOW approves! We also have bear proof totes. These totes have been tested in Yellowstone National Park, and have successfully kept out grizzlies. We have to order these totes and it can take as long as 8 weeks for delivery.
Many of our customers have successfully kept the bears out by placing plywood on the lids, and a ratchet strap across the plywood. It has been our experience that the bears will try to get in the container and then move on. They have been known to knock the dumpster over and roll them around! If the bear discovers that he can get in to you dumpster, then he will keep coming!
